Rotor Varnish Cell

Overall process; automatic robotic load of varnish system (RF heater, varnish bath & drying tower).  Automatic unload of drying tower, automatic robotic loading/unloading secondary operations, measurement system & CNC lathes. Automatic change over of up to 35 different parts.  Operator can edit parameters (i.e. heat settings, part inspection parameters, etc.) for all parts.  Camera systems used to measure and screen out defective parts before insertion into the CNC lathes.
Cell contains a rotor accumulator, robots, automatic measurement systems, CNC lathes & secondary operation machines, several camera systems for locating parts and/or inspecting them.

Automatic Regroove Lathe

Developed a 3 axis lathe that automatically finds the location of a deformed groove in the shaft of a starter armature and then re-cut the groove.  Runs 20 plus different part types.  Part and inspection parameters edited buy operator.  Camera used for finding the deformed groove, screening defective parts and inspecting the cutting tool tip.
